Yep. Another One

I know that I have made a ton of these but I want it just right.  And really, it's like a purse, I have to change it with my mood. :0)  So here is my other ones I made, but I needed one that didn't have any cuts or unfinished edges.
I like these corners much better than just the tabs.  This way I can get to all the buttons without having to remove my Kindle.

I also didn't like that the pen would rub on my Kindle so I moved the pocket to the outside, behind the Kindle.  I like having the notebook and pen for when I see another book I'd like to get and that way I can write it down to remember.  My memory is so bad.
Laugh if you want but I have made another one too.  This one was a but bulky to be in the pocket I have for it in my purse so I just made an envelope case that I can slid my Kindle in and then it doesn't make my purse so heavy. :0)  I told you, I like to change. :0)

Kindle Covers

We just got our taxes back.  They went all to bills this year.  So not fun.  But we wanted to do something for each of our kids with a bit so for our 2 boys, we found Kindles on KSL.com for good deals.  My husband said they needed covers for them and bought them some material for me to make them one. :0)

Book light from the dollar store. ;0)
I did it a bit different than the one I made myself.  I put felt on the one side to protect the Kindle a bit more.
Instead of corners, I made a heavy hold on the bottom and used elastic on the top.
Very impressed with how this turned out.

You remember how I had to make 3 of mine to get it sort of right.  Well, you can see my first attempt didn't go so well either.  I had to cut some out and it doesn't meet up on the side.  I'll be making this Kindle another one this weekend after a birthday party.

My husband found this material for my Dad and had to get it for him so I could make him a Kindle holder also.

A Fun Call

I got a call last Friday from my Aunt who had a friend over who loved my Kindle cover.  She asked if I would make her one.  Here is what I did.

LOVE IT!  I love this material.  You'll notice its the same material that I made my purse out of this summer.  I hope that she likes it as much as I do.  I loved that someone liked what I did and wanted one.  Most things I make no one but me likes. :0)

New Pattern Book

I don't know if you remember me saying this...

Well, I got it for Christmas and have already made 3 patterns out of it.  One I've modified and had to make 3 of them and it's still not turning out like I want it too.  I think I need to try one more time.  Maybe I can just change the last one a bit.

First one.  I put the elastic on it so it would hold my Kindle in there because it was so big and the Kindle kept falling out.

Thought of putting another piece of elastic on the inside to hold the Kindle in but just thought since I had the fabric, I'd make another one.
Added a velcro tap and made it much smaller.

The Kindle barely fit in this one and my notepad didn't fit at all.  I was going to make it work and just cut down the notepad but my husband pointed out that once I get the skin I ordered for the Kindle, it may not squish in.  Back to the sewing machine.

I liked the velcro tap so I kept that.

I think this is the one I'm going to stick with.  It's my 3rd attempt.  It's about 2 inches to small.  I might just cut it up the center and add in a few inches of fabric but we'll see if I get to it. ;0)  I also added tabs to hold the Kindle in the folder.  I like that!

The Awakened

The Awakened: Book One

This is the latest book I have finished reading.  I have to say that I'm hoping to buy the other two books.  This was just book one.

I am always looking for books that just catch me and this one did.  I tend to lead more toward fantasy when I read.  That or romance.  This one was fantasy and very well written.  He got me hooked before I even started the book by reading his little into about how this book came about and how long it took him to write it.

Where this first one is free from Amazon, I wish I would have know how good it would be because I would have just bought the one book that has all three books in it.

If you are looking to escape the real world for a bit, this book will take you there.

New Hobby

I have a new hobby.  Well, it's not a new hobby really.  It is one I've had my whole life but I have a new outlet for that hobby.  I got the Kindle App for my IPod.

Kindle

I'm in LOVE!  And I now want a real Kindle for Christmas.  I'm begging Santa for one. ;0)  But I have found a few Facebook pages that post free books for the Kindle daily.  I have gotten over 300 books in the last week and have read 4 to 5 of them.  I found a lot of them here.  And one of my favorite that I've read off this list is The Amulet.
The Amulet: A Faedra Bennett Custodian Novel
I liked it so much I paid for the second one.

The Emerald Staff (Custodian Novel # 2)

Yes.  I love to read and I am loving that I can keep all these books just in my pocket.  I use to keep a book in my car to read while I did carpool and now I just carry my IPod.  Although, I am reading it so much that I'm having to re-charge it every night. :0)  Now I just need to put it down and get back to sewing.
